imovie app

My class recently used imovie to make a movie about bullying.  They used the iPad to film and take pictures and we are ready to edit it this week.  Lois also came into the classroom with her LCD adapter (which is wonderful and I want one!) so that we could show the students all at once what we had so far and what we need to work on next.

Some problems we ran into: 1) Ruth Betts doesn't have an LCD adapter for the iPad 2) Ruth Betts only has ONE LCD that has the proper hookups for the adapter 3)The students will need to speak much louder to be heard in the movie so we may have to go back and put their voices in after.

Since we only have a week until Spring Break we will be working hard to finish this movie! I only get the iPad until then so it has to be finished because a new class will get the iPad and it could get accidently erased.  I'll post it when I figure out how to do that.  Any tips would be appreciated! -Kali

  1. I am in the process of making an imovie with my class about what technology looks like in grade one. We have it all set up but I need to learn how to edit and how to fancy it up a bit. Not sure when I will learn to do this or who will teach me, but it is on my to do list. I interviewed each student using the video recorder on the ipad, we also created a web of the tech tools we use and I included pictures of the kids throughout the year using various forms of technology. How to put it altogether with a movielike flow is my question?

  2. It seems fairly simple to move the pictures and recordings around, because we also didn't film in order. There are some features to make it more fancy such as adding music and sound clips, or choosing a theme. They are limited of course, but my grade fours were excited about them so grade one or two would be thrilled! It takes a bit of "playing" and I am practicing on a different project in case I mess up the class movie. I'll keep you posted about how it goes.

  3. I can show u what I know Christine. There's some limited but pretty cool things to add to fancy it up. I'm at McIsaac this week. We could do lunch or a spare if it works for u.it just makes it into a movie like flow on its own.
